Centro Comercial La Zenia - Zenia Boulevard

La Zenia currently has a good range of shops, bars and restaurants and a new commercial centre being developed close to the motorway junction, will greatly improve the range of facilities available for visitors to the area.

Some time ago the rumours concerning the new shopping centre by the AP7 La Zenia exit suggested the complex was to be called Centro Comercial Las Playas and that this was put on hold due to financial reasons.

The construction, as you no doubt have seen, has started again. The centre is finally to be known as Zenia Boulevard and is being anchored by the shopping giant Alcampo.

There is expected to be a Primark, Alcampo, Leroy Merlin and Decathlon.

Opening of Centro Comercial La Zenia is scheduled for 2012 and the whole La Zenia area will see a huge boost from this 175,000m2 shopping area.

Also close by is the Go-Kart track at Punta Prima, next to the Asturias Restaurant, a great place to take the kids, there are even mini-karts and mini-quads for young children. Good food is available at the Aturias Restaurant at a very reasonable price.

La Zenia is located on the N332 coastal road between Cabo Roig and Playa Flamenca and has its own exit from the AP-7 motorway (763) It is easily reached from both Murcia and Alicante airports being around 20 minutes from Murcia airport by car and 45 minutes from Alicante. If you are not hiring a car, airport transfers are readily available.

La Zenia is very popular with Irish visitors and the famous "Paddy’s Point" pub is reputed to have been the first Irish pub in the region.

The superb Saturday market at Playa Flamenca is just a short walk from La Zenia and is located behind the Mercadona supermarket, it is held from 8am - 2pm and is a great place to find a good bargain.
